'Successful implementation at Van Dongen in association with DAF'
Transics, provider and developer of on board computers and telematic solutions for the transport and logistic sector, recently implemented its first connection to the CAN Bus, in association with DAF Trucks.
For transport company Van Dongen from Dirksland (NL), whose fleet is equipped with the Transics Quattro on board computer, it is now possible to collect consumption data from the CAN Bus of the vehicle via the on board computer. The information can be consulted in an accurate and conveniently structured report. As the consumption data are generated by the engine management system, and no input by the driver is needed, the information on which the reports are based is highly reliable.
All data on 1 page
The consumption information for a complete month is presented on 1 page, per driver or per vehicle. The reports include for instance the amount of fuel consumed, the number of kilometres driven and their respective averages. We distinguish between driving (long distance), driving (short distance) and standstill. With these reports, it is very simple to compare the behaviour of drivers who perform the same kind of activities. The CAN Bus offers vehicle related information, but the connection with the Quattro on board computer makes it possible to relate the information to the driver, and to make it available for further analysis. The reports on the CAN Bus data are a standard feature of the Transics Fleet management applications.
