Transics consolidates market leadership in Spain
The Spanish fleet owner, Pañalon, has decided to equip its trucks with a Transics on-board computer. The leading carrier expects significant gains in efficiency and profitability. For supplier Transics, this order further strengthens its leadership position in the Spanish market.
Pañalon’s decision to install Transics on-board computers was taken after a year-long search and an extensive screening of different telematics solutions. The carrier wanted a fleet management system that would seamlessly integrate into its existing Transport Management Software. In addition, the platform had to meet a series of previously determined criteria: it had to be high-tech, flexible and supplied by a vendor with a proven track record. The solution provided by Transics, recently awarded the title of ‘promising company of the year’ by the Flemish Government, was selected ahead of the ones proposed by various large local and European players.
16 years’ experience; installed base of 31,000
Transics had excellent marks for all the bid criteria that Pañalon had specified. With over 16 years’ experience in the transport industry and an installed base of 31,000 on-board computers, the company can boast a broad range of expertise. Its thorough knowledge of the transport market is reflected into high-tech, industrial solutions that meet the needs of every fleet owner. Good examples of such targeted solutions are the GPRS communications, the connection with the digital tachograph and the option to choose ‘telecom forfait packages’ (fixed cost). These strong selling points, amongst other things, convinced Pañalon to choose Transics.
“Transics was the only bidder that could provide us with such a powerful total solution,” said Antonio Montero, General Director of Pañalon. “The functionalities of the on-board computer clearly prove that Transics knows what transport companies want. On top of that, the Transics devices are flexible and user-friendly. Every driver can immediately set to work with them. The new on-board computers will certainly help us manage our fleet more efficiently and increase profitability.” Like Pañalon, a lot of carriers have already experienced the added value of Transics’ solution. The Dutch carrier De Rooy, for example, which is one of Pañalon’s main competitors, also relies on Transics.
Well on the way towards becoming the ‘benchmark’
“The fact that a large carrier like Pañalon has opted for Transics confirms our leadership position. It further testifies to the fact that we have all the know-how and experience required to respond to the needs of all – large, medium-sized and small – transport companies. In other words: we’re well on the way towards becoming THE European benchmark in fleet management systems,” said Transics’ managing director Walter Mastelinck in conclusion.
Before year-end, Pañalon plans to have 120 trucks fitted out with a Transics on-board computer. The remaining devices will be installed as soon as possible in 2007.
