Reward for its strategic vision, innovation and rapid international expansion
On Tuesday night last, Transics received the prestigious ‘Flemish Government Prize for Promising Company of the Year’ out of the hands of the Flemish Minister-President Leterme at the Heysel (Brussels). The title rewards the company for the impressive growth it has achieved over the past few years and for its excellent scores on performance criteria, such as strategic vision and innovation.
Since 2005, the proclamation of the title of ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ has been coupled with the presentation of a ‘Promising Company’ award. With this laudable initiative the organizer, the Flemish Government, wishes to underline the importance it attaches to dynamic entrepreneurship. The title is awarded to a first-generation company that scores highly on a number of selection criteria, including entrepreneurship and innovation, strategy and perseverance, internationalization and good corporate governance, and which has the potential to grow significantly over the next few years.
Proven track record
Transics stood out from the rest in all of the above-mentioned categories. The jury also praised Transics’ vision and innovation with regard to telematics for the transport and logistics industries. The company delivers state-of-the-art telematics solutions which, thanks to a seamless integration with all the processes of a transport or logistics company, create considerable added value. The jury picked out this integrated approach as being the main driver of Transics’ success in recent years. “That Transics gained this honour, is testimony to the fact that our company has all the trump cards needed to keep on growing,” said Transics’ managing director Walter Mastelinck. “We have experienced a fascinating growth these past few years. 31,000 European trucks are currently equipped with a Transics on-board computer. But the potential is much greater, as only 3% of the present 5.3 million trucks on Europe’s roads uses a fleet management system. With a turnover of nearly 25 million euros by the end of this year, which is 26% up on 2005, we are the largest and most important player in our sector. This is a very comfortable position in which to drive further growth.”
Committed and competent team
“This prize is a fitting tribute to many years of investment in targeted innovation and product development, but also, and most importantly, to an exceptional team”, continued managing director Ludwig Lemenu. “Transics can count on a professional management team and on a highly motivated group of competent people, both in the field and at the headquarters in Ypres. Over the past few years, our team has been extended notably to support our continued expansion. But we take care that the entrepreneurial spirit remains alive.”
Promising future
Transics has now laid some solid foundations for further growth. The company is determined to remain the European market leader and become the benchmark company in telematics for transport and logistics companies. To further consolidate and speed up its European expansion, Transics is always on the lookout for extra staff. In 2007 a further 20 employees will be hired to support the different departments (R&D, Administration, Customer Support, Project Management, Sales, etc.) of this ‘Promising Company’, both in Ypres and at the regional offices abroad.
Transics NV develops and commercializes on-board computers, software and fleet management solutions for the transport and logistics sector. With over 110 employees and an installed base of over 31,000 on-board computers, Transics NV is the largest company in its sector. Headquartered in Ypres (Belgium), Transics NV has offices in the Netherlands and France and is also active in Germany, Scandinavia, Spain, the Czech Republic and Poland. The company is permanently expanding its European organization.
