A.J. Veurink is a family business founded in 1883 and now headed by the fourth generation. A.J. Veurink is specialised in the direct delivery of palleted goods throughout the neighbouring countries. The company has its own fleet, equipped with Quattro on board computers.
"The on board computers are an enormous help to groupage transport, as the "Tracking & Tracing" module lets us know exactly where each of the trucks is located", says Allan Lensen, Managing Director. "In addition, it's very easy to contact our drivers, so we can advance or postpone the delivery when needed. Thanks to the Quattro we are able to keep a very strict schedule. We are always kept well informed about the driving and resting times of our drivers, what tasks have already been done, what they still have to do, and so on."
The entire planning has been automated as of 1 January 2004. The jobs that used to be arrive on paper, are now sent directly to the on board computer - via e-mail, by the customers.
"Automation brings with it a marked rise in efficiency. Previously, communication was by phone. Thanks to the on board computers we save up to 160 calls a day", says Allan Lensen, Managing Director.
