Transics puts its telematics in favour of economical and ecological driving behaviour by introducing the new “TX-ECO” system. Together with the driver training institute Key Driving Competences, Transics, European leader in high-end fleet management solutions, has developed a tool that offers a dedicated training to drivers based on route and driving behaviour data.
ECO mission
Transics has its own ECO mission: helping European transport companies to work more cost-efficiently and environmentally-friendly. The company is indeed convinced that economy and ecology have a lot in common. The reliable data of the Transics’ fleet management solution such as trip reports and data of the CAN Bus (emergency braking, excess idling and speeding, cruise control, gear changes) lay the foundation of the TX-ECO programme.
However, instead of reporting these data to the transporter, Key Driving Competences uses them to draw up an individual driving style analysis. Based on this analysis, a specific training program is drawn up in order to help the drivers drive safer and more economically.
Permanent monitoring
Unlike other ECO driving trainings, TX-ECO does provide permanent monitoring. This is necessary since practice has shown that drivers can and are willing to adopt the ECO principles, but nevertheless resume already after a few months their old habits. That is why Key Driving Competences monitors the driving style of the drivers even after the training.
The drivers receive automatically generated reports with an evaluation of their driving behaviour from the day before. The transport company regularly receives reports that indicate the general trends.
The new driving style assistant
The driving style assistant TX-ECO ASSISTANT lowers fuel consumption and enhances safety.
Thanks to the new driving style assistant on the Transics TX-MAX on-board computer, drivers can evaluate and improve their own driving style during their daily trips. This real-time coach supports the driver in complying with the ECO driving company policy, like respecting the maximum speed (often 85 km/h); not exceeding the maximal number of revolutions per minute; and having the motor idle as shortly as possible. Furthermore the driver is reminded to maximally anticipate traffic situations, in order to avoid panic or brake actions. The use of these ECO tips enhances safety on the road and lowers fuel consumption.
These real-time parameters are clearly visualized in bar graphs on the on-board computer. The driver can also consult his results of the previous days and constantly improve his driving style.
A single pack
The TX-ECO programme is offered as a single pack together with the known fleet management solutions of Transics. Existing customers can easily step into the programme, provided that an additional processor is connected to the on-board computer. The Van Dievel Transport Company has already been working together with Transics and KDC for some years in order to enhance economical and ecological driving.
