Why did you decide to computerize your fleet?
Because of the many advantages joined with the product. We wanted to shorten the number of days needed to draw up and send the invoice and save time on administration. Transics' fleet management solution provides us with quicker data feedback which results in better information and more informed decisions on delivery terms. Through the automation we are able to follow our vehicles, get positions of the trucks and if necessary generate alarms, e.g. when entering forbidden areas (GeoFencing).
Why did you choose the Transics solution?
We did a thorough review of the on board computer suppliers in 2001. Transics proved to be the best choice. We were looking for a stable company with some experience on a european level.
An open interface, software tools for the processing of data, a standard database, these were sufficient reasons to opt for Transics.
The acceptance of a large project such as this by the personnel is very important. How did your employees react?
Our drivers had a lot of respect for our choice, so the on board computer was very quickly accepted. It is not more complicated than using a mobile phone. Drivers and dispatchers understand that we all save time and money on this.
What has changed in your way of working?
Once the system is operational you get more time for other work. However, when there are errors
in the system or in the information it takes longer to sort it out. Aim is to minimize the errors and increase our productivity.
