Why did you choose the Transics solution?
Transics was already doing the management of the working hours and the positioning. With the Transics solution, the drivers can use the same smartcard for the on board computer, the access control system and the fuel pump system.
The acceptance of a large project such as this by the personnel is very important. How did your employees react?
The drivers have accepted the project very well. They even have made a habit out of managing their driving and resting times and to inform us by messages of the progress of their deliveries.
What has changed in the way of working at Transports Charbonnier?
During the day, we can now follow the activities of each of the drivers compared with their planning, which was not possible before. All information between the company and the drivers is exchanged via electronical messages. As a result, the phone bills have been reduced significantly. Nowadays, we can't work without the functionalities of the Transics solution.
What is the profit of the introduction of the fleet management system for your customers?
We keep the customers informed of the positioning of the vehicles and of their goods.
What advice can you give to your colleagues who also want to computerize?
A conclusion that we can draw, is that you have to know very well what you want, and to consequently choose your supplier very carefully.
How long do you expect it will take to get a return on investment?
We haven't calculated this, but we react faster to events and we work better and more calmly. So, there is obviously a positive return.
