JostGroup equips its fleet with Transics fleet management solution

Quality, innovation and customer service convince JostGroup to intensify existing cooperation

The fast growing Luxembourg transport company JostGroup equips its entire fleet with Transics on-board computers. The new order follows a long and successful cooperation between JostGroup and Transics. The transporter, which grew tremendously in the last years due to take-overs and internal growth, chooses for an advanced fleet management solution, which generates a clear competitive advantage. By choosing determinedly for Transics, also for the vehicles which JostGroup took over from Transport Weerts, the group confirms its trust in Europe’s market leader in high-end fleet management solutions.

JostGroup, a fixed value in the European transport world, knew an impressive growth in the past 2 years due to acquisitions and internal growth. By taking over the transport department of the Weerts Group, who supplies all Carrefour stores, the number of employees grew from 600 to 1100 at the end of 2008. To boost the efficiency after this strategic take-over and to support the growth, JostGroup opted for a complete equipped fleet with one fleet management system. After a thorough screening, they decided to intensify the long-term cooperation with Transics. Besides the JostGroup Trucks, already equipped with the Transics Quattro Plus on-board computers, the vehicles JostGroup took over from Weerts will be fitted out with the new Transics TX-MAX on-board computers. The back office opted for renewal as well, with the newest back office software in hosting model, Transics’ TX-CONNECT.

Reliable partners with advanced functionalities

Transics convinced JostGroup in different aspects. “We have been working together for more than 10 years now. All this time, Transics has been an excellent partner, who provided us with qualitative and trustworthy solutions and services,” quoted André Wansart, IT Manager of JostGroup. “Transics understands the transport world and knows our challenges; they offer us an innovative functionality to support our complex tasks. Therefore we want to integrate features like the TX-DOCSCAN mobile document scanner and Temperature Control in the future.” Thanks to the TX-DOCSCAN drivers can now send their documents from their cabin to the home base, which provides a quick and swift invoicing process. The digital management of temperatures will allow JostGroup to survey the temperature of the cargo more easily and to optimize the quality. This option will be mostly beneficial for Carrefour, a JostGroup client.

Transparency and collaboration with TX-CONNECT

Next to the new TX-MAX on-board computers, JostGroup also chose for TX-CONNECT, Transics’ new back office software. TX-CONNECT guarantees advanced possibilities for an enforced transparency, collaboration and interaction between the different players of the logistic chain. This way, both drivers, dispatchers, managers and subcontractors get a better insight in all information which is send via the on-board computers.

With the conception of the platform, user-friendliness and an easy integration were essential. Because of the smooth integration into the existing back office software for transport management (DST of Puissance I and TMW of Transport Care), TX-CONNECT is a cost-efficient solution to streamline and optimize operational processes. Important for the transport group was the hosting formula of TX-CONNECT, by which Transics is responsible for managing servers and applications. This way JostGroup can focus on its core activities: transport and logistics services.

Trust confirmed

“JostGroup strives for a day-to-day provision of logistic solutions with an added value”, concludes André Wansart, IT Manager of JostGroup. “Thanks to Transics, we can increase our efficiency and decrease our operational costs, this way we can differentiate ourselves even better from other logistic service providers.” Walter Mastelinck, CEO of Transics, is pleased with the persistency of the cooperation: “Transics has more than 19 years of experience in the market of high-end fleet management solutions. We use this expertise to permanently complete and improve our services for our customers. This way we stay a trendsetter with a broad and qualitative fleet management system. The existing customers like JostGroup are happy to turn to the new solutions, which confirms their trust in our expertise.”

Mousset Group saves up to 8% on fuel per month and per vehicle thanks to the Transics TX-MAX on-board computer and the new TX-ECO functionality

Unique and durable result thanks to permanent follow-up

The French transport company and Transics’ client, Mousset Group, has tested the TX-MAX on-board computer that is integrated with the new Transics’ TX-ECO programme. This ecological function is a product by Transics and KDC (Key Driving Competences). It uses the data concerning the routes and the drivers’ driving style to allow ecological behaviour. Thanks to this new functionality, the Mousset Group has reduced its fuel consumption by 8% per month and per vehicle. Equally, CO2 emissions have been reduced by 8%.

The TX-ECO programme is the result of intensive research by Transics and its partner KDC, an institute for trainings on driving style analysis. Objective: the development of a tool capable of helping drivers steer in a more ecological and safer way. Based on the data from the Transics’ fleet management applications, such as info related to trips and technical CAN Bus data (RPM, speed, fuel consumption, etc.), KDC makes an individual analysis of the drivers’ driving style. This analysis allows the creation of a specific, customized training programme, which results in constant follow-up of the quality of the driving performances. All this information is provided by automatical reports.

A unique and integrated programme thanks to continuous follow-up

The thing that makes this programme unique is its total approach. In contrast to most driving trainings which are too rational or punctual and therefore little efficient, TX-ECO foresees continuous follow-up. The Transics solution is based on a KDC coaching training as well as on regular and personalised monitoring of each driver. ”This training process is necessary, since experience has shown that the majority of drivers are willing to and capable of applying the ECO driving principles, but, after a few months, slowly start to pick up their old habits again“, explains Walter Mastelinck, Transics’ CEO. The Mousset Group has equipped its fleet with TX-ECO by connecting an additional processor to the TX-MAX on board computers. The new function has been installed on a part of the fleet since June 2009. 25 trucks in total were equipped with this extra module. 50 drivers have received an efficient and tailored training, provided by Key Driving Competences.

A minimum of 8% is saved on fuel per month per vehicle

”We say it, we do it, that’s our golden rule”, explains Yannis Mollé, Responsible of On-board Informatics at Mousset Group. “Quality, customer service and security throughout our activities are priorities issued by the management. The Transics’ fleet management solution helps us to achieve these objectives. With the TX-ECO solution, we improve our security as well. For years, it has been the favourite feature of the Mousset Group. Furthermore, our fuel costs have been reduced by 8% per month, per vehicle. At least, we drive more ecologically.” The advantages for Mousset concerning safety and maintenance costs have not yet been quantified, but a survey, executed in the Netherlands by Senter Novem during 5 years, has revealed a 3.5%-reduction of maintenance costs and a 14.5%-reduction of costs related to road accidents.

The future? Durability and safety

Transics also launches the TX-ECO ASSISTANT during the Solutrans (Lyon, 2-6/03) and SITL (Paris, 23-26/03) fairs. Integrated in the TX-MAX on-board computer, this functionality helps drivers to evaluate and improve their own driving style. During their daily trips, they receive instructions. It also proves that Transics is a master in ecological and therefore economical driving. ”Transics has taken on an ecological mission: helping transport companies work in a more environmental-friendly way, thus more profitable. We are convinced that economy and ecology go hand in hand. With the unique TX-ECO concept, we put our fleet management applications in service of a qualitative and durable driving style and guarantee improved road safety. We are convinced that the future of road transport lies in those fields”, concludes Walter Mastelinck, Transics’ CEO.

Press release 15/03/2010

Reference is being made to the press release of 28 January 2010 whereby Transics communicated that it regularly investigates internal and external growth opportunities and that, amongst others, it held exploratory discussions with respect to Punch Telematix. Although these discussions have thus far not led to any binding commitments on the part of any of the parties concerned, Transics is willing, under certain conditions, to consider a combination of both companies.

Because of the evolution of the stock price of Punch Telematix since the initial press coverage about these exploratory discussions and because Transics wishes adequately to inform the public of all possible, relevant information in this respect, Transics announces that it has now sent a written, non-binding, indicative offer to Punch Telematix and Punch International, in which Transics confirms its interest further to investigate and to draw up an integration of Transics and Punch Telematix.

For the time being, said indicative offer is not binding and subject to several strict conditions, i.e.:

  • the prior support by Punch Telematix’ management of the joint industrial project that is still to be drawn up;
  • satisfactory completion of a proper due diligence on Punch Telematix;
  • the support of the transaction by Punch Telematix’ board of directors and by the majority shareholder; and
  • reaching satisfactory, final binding arrangements with all parties concerned.

Transics confirmed in an indicative, non-binding manner that, in case these conditions are met, it may be willing to address a voluntary public offering to all shareholders of Punch Telematix, whereby 4 (four) existing Punch Telematix shares would entitle the holder thereof to 1 (one) newly to be issued Transics share increased with EUR 4.25 (four euro and twenty five cents) in cash. On the basis of Transics’ stock price on 10 March 2010, this price values each Punch Telematix share at EUR 2.78 (two euro and seventy-eights cents), which is a premium of 72% above the average 30-day closing price of EUR 1.61 (one euro and sixty-one cents) on 26 January 2010, the day upon which reports appeared in the press in respect of possible discussions with respect to Punch Telematix. The exchange offer, if any, will be subject to the condition that at least 90% of Punch Telematix shares will be tendered in the voluntary public offering.

To the extent the discussions would lead to further specific information or to binding agreements, Transics shall again inform the public thereof accordance with the applicable rules.
