Transics wins Innovation Award
From 17th until 19th of March, the fair ‘Move It Expo’ took place in Genk. The company that presented the most innovating concept, product or solution was granted an Innovation Award during the reception afterwards. Transics went home with the first prize!
End March, the Euregional event ‘Move it Expo’ took place in cooperation with ELC Limburg, Logistics in Wallonia, Logistiek Platform Limburg and the Industrie- und Handelskammer Aachen. The main focus during this 3-day event was on innovative entrepreneurship in the transport and logistics sector. The fair ended with the presentation of the Innovation Award.
Transics’ TX-ECO in the front row during the awards
The innovation award was eventually granted to Transics, European market leader in fleet management solutions for the transport and logistics sector, who had presented a report on its newest TX-ECO functionality. TX-ECO is an innovative solution which allows transport companies to permanently work in the most ecological and thus in the most economical way. For this purpose, Transics works together with Key Driving Competences (KDC), an expert in driving trainings, with a focus on the ecological impact and durable safety.
The technology shows a direct correlation between consumption and driving style: the better the driving behaviour is, the lower the consumption will be. Transics and KDC touch on this subject with their integrated approach: training and permanent support of drivers and managers as far as driving competences are concerned. The data that are provided by the Transics TX-MAX on-board computers (thanks to the link with the CAN Bus of the vehicle) are the basis of this training: information about fuel consumption, speed, RPM, gearing frequency, anticipation, breaking and acceleration. With these data, reports per trip or on a daily, monthly or yearly basis are automatically generated. Thanks to these reports and trends, one can assess whether extra training is necessary, while individual working points for each driver can be defined.
Qualitative analysis
TX-ECO is innovative in the way in which it analyses the driving style. Since a quantitative analysis is not enough, KDC has created an algorithm that executes qualitative analyses of the assessed events (driving performances) by comparing them to each other and qualifying them on an axis reaching from very good to very bad. By analysing the driving style in a quantitative way, environmental conditions are eliminated. Because of this elimination, an objective score can be obtained, which allows drivers to compare their scores with each other and with the company norm. As a result of the environmental independence of the qualitative analyses, it doesn’t matter which type of vehicle is assessed. TX-ECO can be applied to all heterogenic fleets without any problems.
Complementary to permanent monitoring, the TX-ECO ASSISTANT on the TX-MAX offers real-time support to the driver in order to comply with the company’s procedures concerning ECO driving.
