Transics unveils smartphone application for drivers at BedrijfsautoRAI 2012

Easy-to-use smartphone solution with unique pay-per-use price model ensures easy integration of subcontractors into the logistics chain

At RAI 2012 in Amsterdam, from 17 to 21 April next, fleet management expert Transics will unveil TX-SMART ‒ a new Android application that helps carriers easily exchange information with their subcontractors. The smartphone solution, which features an intuitive user interface, is marketed in a pay-per-use pricing model, which makes it especially appealing to carriers who only need it occasionally. TX-SMART, as well as the new 8.0 TX-CONNECT back office software release and the TX-MAGELLAN trailer management solution (which will be presented at RAI 2012 too), are largely based on customer feedback, in line with Transics’ customer-driven development strategy.

Transics’ native android solution, TX-SMART, which will be available from May 2012 onwards, helps carriers easily integrate occasional subcontractors into their logistic chain, thus raising efficiencies. The concept is simple: subcontractors’ drivers that run TX-SMART on their smartphones can easily and quickly exchange information with the dispatchers and planners in the back office, as TX-SMART is fully integrated into Transics’ TX-CONNECT back-office platform. Features of the mobile application include driver and vehicle identification, trailer selection, two-way text messaging, driver activity management, sending structured planning messages and providing information on pallets and details on damage to goods.

TX-SMART ensures easy accessibility and has a very intuitive user interface, in order to optimize the user experience. Most innovative, however, may well be its pricing model. TX-SMART is available via a pay-per-use model: at the end of each month, carriers will only pay for the days they have actually used the software.

In addition to TX-SMART, RAI will also stage a preview of TX-CONNECT Version 8.0. The new release helps transport and logistics companies further drive productivity, on the road as well as in the back office. The new features of version 8.0, most of which are accessible through web-based services, make the platform an even more crucial chain in transport operations.

Trailer management

Finally, Transics demonstrates its solution for trailer management at the fair. TX-MAGELLAN is a family of trailer and asset tracers which offer various functionalities. Depending on the choice of tracer, transport companies can perform correct route calculations and hence correct invoices, a thorough supervision on temperature transport and timely schedule maintenance. All crucial for a maximal uptime of the trailer fleet.

Customer- and market-driven development

“Customer-driven development is our guiding creed: we listen to our customers, study the market and develop new features that meet – or exceed – their needs,” said Walter Mastelinck, CEO of Transics. “In response to the growing demand for mobile applications, we launched TX-MOBILE, a mobile version of our TX-CONNECT platform, last autumn. TX-SMART is another addition to our growing mobile portfolio. Its unique pricing model meets a clear market need: customers are pressing more and more for a flexible licensing approach. The new pay-per-use model makes the solution available to anyone, even smaller carriers or carriers who only occasionally work with subcontractors. TX-SMART, the new TX-CONNECT release as well as TX-MAGELLAN will further help us achieve our mission of helping carriers raise productivity in today’s fiercely competitive market.”

Transics experts will be available at RAI in Amsterdam, stand number 240, hall 3, to give a demo of TX-SMART, TX- CONNECT 8.0 and TX-MAGELLAN and answer any questions about Transics products and services.
