Transics integrates Cargobull trailer telematics into latest version of TX-CONNECT back office software

Integration allows carriers to monitor drivers, trucks, trailers and all other assets on one single platform – to further boost productivity

Fleet management expert Transics collaborates with Cargobull Telematics, part of trailer builder Schmitz Cargobull, to integrate information from the Cargobull trailer telematics into the 9.0 release of Transics` popular TX-CONNECT back office platform. Thanks to the integration, carriers will now be able to track the location, status and temperature conditions of trailers, monitored by a Cargobull Telematics unit, in their trusted TX-CONNECT interface. Transics and Cargobull are glad their cooperation will help joint customers deploy their fleet management solutions to the max and, consequently, boost productivity.

With yearly trailer shipments exceeding 60,000 units and revenues up to €2 billion, Schmitz Cargobull is the leading European manufacturer of trailers and semi-trailers for commercial vehicles. The telematics solutions developed by its subsidiary Cargobull Telematics offer real-time trailer monitoring services – from status and location through to temperature control.

One single interface

By integrating the Cargobull telematics system into the new TX-CONNECT 9.0 back office software, Cargobull and Transics allow freight planners, dispatchers, management and everyone concerned in the back office to remotely gain insight into assets, vehicles as well as trailers on a single platform. In their TX-CONNECT interface, they will get access to details on the real-time as well as historical position and status of Cargobull trailers. In addition, real-time information will be available on the conditions in the refrigeration unit and the predefined set points of the cooling unit. If there is a fluctuation from the specified temperature, they will immediately get an alarm. On top of that, the information gathered by the Cargobull telematics unit will also be processed by TX-CONNECT’s reporting modules and included in temperature reports, which carriers can offer their clients as a value-added service.

Genuine market interest

Transics and Cargobull have been partnering for some time to combine their fleet management expertise into perfectly integrated solutions. TX-CONNECT 9.0 brings their partnership to a new level. Both companies are delighted with the result. “We have really experienced strong demand, from joint customers, for a solution that integrates the follow-up of trucks as well as trailers. So I am thrilled with this launch. I am confident it will really help our clients maximise their investments in fleet management,” said Karl Heinz Neu, Managing Director of Cargobull Telematics.

Based on customer feedback

“Just like Transics, Schmitz Cargobull is constantly looking for solutions that help their customers optimise fleet management and raise productivity,” added Walter Mastelinck, Transics’ CEO. “So it was a pleasure to work with them on this new feature which, no doubt, will meet customer needs. In fact, this is just one of the many examples of our customer-driven development. TX-CONNECT 9.0 successfully integrates plenty of new features that were developed based on user feedback.”

Transics experts will be available at IAA in Hannover from September 20th to 27th next (stand number D65, hall 25) to give a demo of the new TX-CONNECT 9.0 and answer all questions on Transics’ solutions.

Contino equips its fleet with Transics’ fleet management solution

Contino order strengthens Transics’ foothold in the Danish transport market

Fleet management expert Transics is quickly making inroads into the Scandinavian transport and logistics market. Just recently, the company signed a major deal with Danish carrier Contino. Transics will equip more than 300 Contino trucks with its TX-MAX on-board computers, which will be seamlessly integrated into the carrier’s existing IT solutions. Contino is confident that Transics will help it raise efficiency, cut costs, improve customer services and even reduce its impact on the environment.

Firmly rooted in Denmark, the Contino group has a large, modern fleet that conveys goods to and from Denmark or between other European destinations. To offer its customers the best possible services, Contino strongly relies on state-of-the-art technology. After a few months of extensive testing, Transics’ fleet management solutions proved a perfect fit for that strategy. Contino was so impressed with the advanced functionality and easy integration of Transics’ TX-MAX on-board computers that it immediately decided to replace its existing solution and install TX-MAX devices in all trucks.

Carrier is impressed by features like TX-ECO and TX-DOCSCAN

While the basic fleet management features that Transics offers, such as positioning and smooth communication between dispatchers and truck drivers, all met Contino’s requirements and wishes, there were some extra features, such as TX-ECO and TX-DOCSCAN, that even exceeded the carrier’s expectations.

“At Contino, we make every effort possible to lessen the burden of our activities on the environment. TX-ECO really is a great tool to help our drivers reduce fuel consumption and costs, while saving the environment,” explains Allan Jepsen, CEO of Contino Group. “The TX-DOCSCAN mobile scanner, which is connected to the on-board computer, allows drivers to directly scan all documents in their cab and forward them to the office. In this way, it helps us speed up jobs like invoicing, which, again, helps us save money.” In addition, Contino praises the driving and resting times module and translation features.

Peter Frost Rasmussen, CEO of Contino Transport, also points to a good chemistry between Contino, Transics and their Danish representative Christian Johnstad-Møller.

Seamless integration of Transics’ systems into existing ERP system

The extensive, powerful functionality was one reason for Contino to select Transics. Another argument pro-Transics is the Web services platform, which ensures a user-friendly and quick integration of the fleet management system into other software packages. The TX-CONNECT back office software will be seamlessly integrated into Contino’s ERP system.

Spreading the word in Denmark

Transics welcomes this new agreement with Contino. Walter Mastelinck, CEO: “Contino is a big player on the Scandinavian market. This new deal will further highlight our strength in fleet management and reinforce our foothold in Denmark and neighbouring countries.”

Headquartered in Padborg, Denmark, and with subsidiaries in Denmark, Germany and the Czech Republic, the Contino group is a large haulage contractor with roots going back to 1982. Boasting a fleet of over 300 trucks, Contino transports goods – full loads, partial loads and general cargo – across most of Europe, with a strong focus on Germany. In addition, the group has 9,000 m2 of modern warehouse space. www.contino.dk

Transics teams up with Thermo King to integrate tracking into latest version of TX-CONNECT back office software

New release of Transics back office software offers single-interface access to real-time view on drivers, trucks as well as trailers controlled by TracKing

Fleet management expert Transics announces the integration of TracKing, the telematics solution of Thermo King, into the latest release of its TX-CONNECT back office platform. By integrating the TracKing telematics unit into TX-CONNECT 9.0, Transics and Thermo King provide planners, dispatchers, management, etc. access in the back office with single-interface access to information on all their fleet-related assets, vehicles as well as trailers. With this all-in-one approach, both market leaders cater to the ever-growing market demand for user-friendly fleet management solutions that help foster productivity and efficiency.

Established in 1938, Thermo King is the global leader in transport temperature control systems for the transport industry. Its TracKing telematics system gives transporters of perishable goods visibility of their assets from their desktop. “Having real-time temperature, location and alarm information on their refrigerated fleets increases their operational efficiency,” said Michel Hamrouni, Thermo King’s Telematics & Accessories Manager. “Just like the TX-MAX on-board computers from Transics do, in fact. Hence came the idea of combining our trailer-related information with that of the on-board computers, and having Transics visualise this data in the TX-CONNECT back office platform.”

One single back office platform

Besides status and location information from the TX-MAX on-board computers, everyone concerned in the back office gets access to details on the real-time as well as historical position and status of trailers monitored by TracKing, from their familiar TX-CONNECT interface. In addition, real-time information on the conditions in the refrigeration unit and the predefined set points of the cooling unit is available. If there is no deviation from the specified temperature, dispatchers immediately get an alarm. On top of that, TracKing reports are integrated into the TX-CONNECT reporting module and included in temperature reports. More and more customers demand such reports, to gain insight into the temperature history of their goods during shipment.

Genuine market interest

“We pride ourselves in the research and development of market-leading innovative solutions that offer our customers the most reliable, efficient and effective products. The cooperation with Transics, which is just as dedicated to innovation as we are, perfectly fits this strategy,” Hamrouni continued.

Walter Mastelinck, CEO of Transics: “Taking into account the feedback of our customers, our R&D team has developed a whole series of new features for TX-CONNECT 9.0, such as integration into freight exchange, implementation of toll roads and costs into route calculation, etc. – all designed to help our clients work more effectively. The integration with TracKing is definitely a distinct asset. I am delighted to collaborate with one of the market leaders in temperature control systems and am confident that our joint customers will appreciate this innovation.”

Transics experts will be available at IAA in Hannover from September 20th to 27th next (stand number D65, hall 25) to give a demo of the new TX- CONNECT 9.0 and answer all questions on Transics’ products and services.
