WABCO Signs its Largest Ever Fleet Management Solutions Contract to Equip Girteka Logistics across Europe

WABCO Holdings Inc. (NYSE: WBC), a leading global supplier of technologies that improve the safety, efficiency and connectivity of commercial vehicles, today announced its largest ever Fleet Management Solutions (FMS) contract with Girteka Logistics, Europe’s leading asset-based transport company. Under the agreement, 2,700 trucks across Girteka Logistics’ European fleet will be equipped with WABCO’s advanced FMS.

Headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania, Girteka Logistics has a fleet of more than 4,000 trucks and 4,300 trailers. It delivers over 320,000 Full Truck Loads (FTL) annually for some of the world’s largest retail brands.

This multi-year agreement will see Girteka Logistics trucks upgraded with WABCO-owned Transics’ comprehensive FMS portfolio, including advanced TX-SKY™ on-board computers and TX-FLEX™ mobile app connectivity as well as TX-CONNECT™ back-office IT and software integration via the TX-TANGO™ web service platform. This powerful combination of advanced FMS solutions provides significant benefits for Girteka Logistics, including improvements to its overall fleet efficiency and an enhanced customer service capability.

Providing real-time communication between Girteka Logistics’ dispatchers and drivers, TX-SKY onboard computers constantly monitor and collect high quality truck data. This enables fleet managers to plan advanced route management as well as receive real-time alerts and alarms on vehicle speeds, GeoFences, driving times and activity duration. These functions, including efficient remote tachograph downloading, are all critical to support compliance with European driving and resting time regulations. TX-SKY also delivers truck performance and driving style analysis to aid more economical and ecological driving. This is complemented by TX-FLEX mobile app connectivity which further enhances driver efficiency with out-of-cabin information support.

“We are very proud that Girteka Logistics, a truly innovative transport leader, has chosen WABCO as their strategic FMS partner,” said Nick Rens, WABCO President, Trailer Systems, Aftermarket and Off-Highway Division. “Girteka Logistics already has WABCO Electronic Braking Systems installed on many of its trailers and, by now combining this proven vehicle control technology with our industry-leading Transics FMS, we offer a new level of differentiation for Girteka Logistics in terms of overall fleet efficiency and customer service. This contract also demonstrates how WABCO is uniquely placed to harvest data from truck, trailer and driver behaviors and leverage the increasing digitization of our industry as another driver of WABCO’s outperformance.”

Transics’ FMS will enable Girteka Logistics to closely monitor and communicate with more vehicles per dispatcher than previously possible. In addition to a clearer picture of its fleet performance, new functionalities including order follow-up guidance and out-of-cab information support will give Girteka Logistics increased visibility of its customer supply chain.

“We see WABCO not just as a trusted supplier, but as a strategic long-term partner and enabler of our business growth,” added Edvardas Liachovicius, Girteka Logistics Chief Executive Officer. “To be competitive in this dynamic market we are continuously seeking to improve operational efficiency and, as our fleet grows, this can only be achieved with the most advanced solutions on the market. WABCO provides this and much more. We selected them as a critical partner who can help us stay ahead of the curve by truly differentiating our customer service as we constantly strive to further improve customer satisfaction and fleet efficiency.”

WABCO Expands Telematics Portfolio; TX-FLEX Driver App Boosted To a Highly Advanced Telematics Solution

Ypres, BELGIUM, March 27, 2018 – Transics, a WABCO company and full solution provider for truck, driver, trailer, cargo and subcontractor management, has launched the latest version of its driver app TX-FLEX. This highly advanced, mobile telematics solution now also enables drivers to participate in planning follow-up and direct communication as well as navigate via mobile devices. Such features were previously only accessible via the fixed on-board computer TX-SKY. By expanding its portfolio with the updated version of its driver app, Transics fulfills the requirements of fleets in search of a truck-independent, highly flexible and cost-efficient telematics solution.

With the launch of the new version of the driver app, TX-FLEX is now also compatible with TX-GO, the company’s truck-independent, displayless on-board computer. The driver simply connects the TX-FLEX app to the displayless on-board computer to gain full access to comprehensive data services via a mobile device – either a tablet or a smartphone. The updated app also offers a high level of flexibility for fleet managers, as it includes an overview of the driver’s remaining driving and resting times. In addition, it offers the company’s economical driving performance program, TX-ECO ASSISTANT.

Advanced API extends digitization into the truck cabin

The advanced API (Application Programming Interface) of the updated driver app TX-FLEX further enables integration of additional applications and software to the mobile device of the driver, such as truck and trailer inspection apps, navigation software and digital CMR platforms. Previously, the integration was only available in the back office via TX-CONNECT, Transics’ web-based back office suite. With the updated version, such integrations are also made available in the truck cabin. Drivers can now easily make use of data from external apps via their mobile devices.

“Enabling the combined use of our driver app with the displayless on-board computers significantly enriches our telematics portfolio. We are now offering a solution for fleets that value mobility and freedom of choice of device in- and outside the truck,” said Peter Bal, Vice President Digital Customer Services at WABCO. “Via the advanced API, we also bring digitization to the cabin. TX-FLEX is now more than a driver app, it has become a fully advanced telematics solution increasing efficiency, mobility and usability for fleets and drivers.”
