Transics’ “World of Solutions Road Show” on tour across Germany

On the 1st of June last, Transics, part of the WABCO group, kicked off a road show through Germany: starting at the head office of logistics service provider Fenthol & Sandtmann in Hamburg, the “WABCO World of Solutions Truck” crossed the country for three weeks on end. The tour, which was a first for Transics, dropped by at the sites of around 30 hauliers, carriers and logistics services providers. The objective: showcase the key features of Transics’ fleet management programme, i.e. the advanced TX-CONNECT fleet management platform and WABCO’s “Intelligent Trailer Programme”.

Didier Nulens, Global Sales, Marketing and Operational Leader: “Contrary to most common, standalone telematics applications for data from on-board computers and semi-trailers, our TX-CONNECT platform bundles and visualizes the real-time data from trucks, trailers and drivers together in one, single platform, in an efficient and cost-effective manner. In this way, we provide an innovative communications hub that connects trucks / drivers and the back office, thus raising road safety and truck efficiency, while also reducing harmful emissions.”

A key new building block of the platform is the TX-TRAILERGUARD trailer telematics solution that will be available on the market soon. TX-TRAILERGUARD collects relevant data from all kinds of trailer EBS and cooling systems, various peripherals and sensors. Bundled with data from WABCO’s braking, stability control, efficiency and safety systems and information registered by the integrated Transics on-board computers, that data is then visualized in the TX-CONNECT back office platform. TX-CONNECT brings all the data flows together in a general overview with practical management data. The reports provide users with valuable insights to improve fleet safety and efficiency.

WABCO’s award-winning “Intelligent Trailer Programme” features over 40 key trailer functions that help trailer manufacturers, fleet operators and carriers cut transport costs, save fuel and improve driver safety and comfort.

Several of these 40 functions were showcased on Transics’ road show truck. Examples of the WABCO systems, whose benefits were demonstrated at the truck, include TailGUARD – the blind spot detection solution with automatic braking aid –, the OptiTurn efficiency system and OptiLoad, which helps optimize the transport process through an intelligent lift axle. Also on show were the OptiTire tire pressure monitoring system and the Immobilizer safety system, which protects the vehicle from theft.

In addition, visitors to the truck discovered the OptiFlow SideWings and OptiFlow Tail aerodynamics solutions, which together allow carriers to save up to 7% on fuel costs.
