One of the most vital challenges for fleet managers is optimizing their vehicle fleet capacity and processes in order to meet customer demand. Willi Betz, a well-known international forwarding and transport company in Europe, is well aware of that. The logistics expert equips approximately 370 commercial vehicles in Europe with Transics’ advanced telematics solutions, including the fixed TX-SKY on-board computer and TX-CONNECT back office software.
Dietmar Munding, Project Leader at Willi Betz: “A year ago, we started substituting our old, satellite-based solution with the advanced Transics’ telematics solutions. By now, we have equipped more than 120 trucks in eight of our European subsidiaries with TX-SKY on-board computers. The solution helps us to significantly upgrade our fleet management capabilities. Based on the positive results, we decided to equip an additional 250 trucks with Transics’ advanced telematics solution by the end of this year.”
Enabling Willi Betz to meet all customer needs such as on-time delivery, TX-SKY is connected to the vehicle’s CAN bus and tachograph, tracking and exchanging all driver- and truck-related information in real time. Via Transics’ online Web service platform, the company’s Transport Management System is integrated into the TX-CONNECT back office software.
Also integrated within the back office platform is Transics’ document management solution TX-DOCSCAN, which allows drivers to forward transport documents directly from the cab, thus accelerating billing and payment processes. Furthermore, the navigation functionality is linked to the order and charge-based workflow, improving driver efficiency.
Didier Nulens, Global Sales, Marketing & Operations Leader, at Transics: “Willi Betz and Transics share their vision for state-of-the-art professional transport solutions. Both companies are committed to fully analyzing and understanding their customers’ needs, in order to deliver professional solutions that perfectly match demands. By offering our telematics solution, we support Willi Betz in demonstrating their core values of quality, excellent on-the-ground experience and customer service.”
